One week to go

In one week, we will be leaving for Africa.  We are very nervous about traveling but so excited to meet Bejigo at the same time.  This week, I have been busy organizing the many donations that we have received from our generous friends and family including clothes, shoes, toys, lotion, baby powder, other medical items, and so many other wonderful things to mention.  I can't wait to drop off the items to the orphanage to bless all of these sweet children waiting for families.  We are planning on taking 3 full suitcases of donations with us and if we happen to not have room, we will take what is left on our next trip.

What we will be doing....

On Friday, we will leave from the Dayton airport and fly to Detroit and then Amsterdam and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  We will arrive there on Saturday night, sleep for a few hours and then on Sunday, a driver will take us approximately 6 hours south to the orphanage where Bejigo is living right now.  We will then get to spend a few precious hours with our little man (and hopefully take tons of pictures) and then we will head back to the capital city of Addis.  One of the things that I have been thinking about is that we will actually get to meet and hold Bejigo on my sweet baby girl's (Kate) 5th Birthday.  Although we will miss the kids very much and it will be hard to not be home for Kate's special day.   On Monday, we will go to court and if everything goes well, Bejigo will officially be our son!!!!!  Tuesday, we plan on doing a little sight-seeing and shopping around Addis.  Then back home on Wednesday!!!
